Our article analyzes data from 440 information security audits of small and medium-sized Czech an... more Our article analyzes data from 440 information security audits of small and medium-sized Czech and Slovak companies in the years 2015–2019. The aim of our article is to identify the most problematic areas in information security management systems of SMEs. Audit findings are analyzed by company size and by audit type. The taxonomy of enterprises respects the EU methodology of small enterprises with up to 50 employees and medium-sized enterprises with up to 250 employees. The performed audits are divided into four categories - initial, periodical, certification and other. The data were analyzed in MD Excel, using contingency tables. The results show that the biggest problem of today's small and medium-sized organizations in the categories “A12” - Operations Security and “A18 - Compliance”.
