Controlled Natural Languages or CNLs are artificial subsets of natural languages that aim to make... more Controlled Natural Languages or CNLs are artificial subsets of natural languages that aim to make communication clearer and more precise. In general, CNLs are used in communication between humans or with computers and, particularly, when clarity and unambiguity are required. Existing CNLs have been developed to be exploited in many applications such as technical documentation, machine translation or database query language. So far, many CNLs have been developed for Western languages, especially English, but no concrete CNL has yet been proposed for Arabic even with the increasing number of Arabic Internet users in the last two decades. In this paper, we propose a roadmap for developing an Arabic CNL to provide new kind and advanced natural language services for Arabic people. Methodologically speaking, we review the most important existing CNLs in English and other languages helping us knowing some statistics related to the vocabulary size and the number of grammar rules that could help in designing the new CNL. This paper proposes two major approaches; one relies on leveraging on already-built CNLs, whereas the other consists in starting from scratch. The survey of Arabic NLP challenges along the available resources and tools allowed us to favor the second approach as the basis for the proposed roadmap.

This last has many applications such as moving object detection, cancer detection, and the classification of satellite images, also called images of land use-land cover (LULC), which are the scope of this paper. It represents the most commonly used method for decision making in the sustainable management of natural resources at various geographical levels. However, methods of satellite images analysis are expensive in the computational time and did not show good performance. Therefore, this paper, on the one hand, proposes a new CNN architecture called Modified MobileNet V1 (MMN) based on the fusion of MobileNet V1 and ResNet50. On the other hand, it presents a comparative study of the proposed model and the most used models based on transfer learning, i.e. MobileNet V1, VGG16, DenseNet201, and ResNet50. The experiments were conducted on the dataset Eurosat, and they show that ResNet50 results emulate the other models.

The adoption of standard CGIF by CG tools will enable interoperability between them to be achieve... more The adoption of standard CGIF by CG tools will enable interoperability between them to be achieved, and in turn lead to the interoperability between CG tools and other tools. The integration of ISO Common Logic's standard CGIF notation in the Amine platform is presented. It also describes the first steps towards full interoperability between the Amine CG tool (through its Synergy component) and CharGer, a representative CG tool that supports similar interoperability and for process (or 'active') knowledge as well as declarative knowledge. N-adic relations are addressed as well as semantic compatibility across the two tools. The work remarks on the successes achieved, highlighting certain issues along the way, and offering a real impetus to achieve interoperability.

Cet article présente l'intégration du langage naturel ACE (Attempto Controlled English) dans ... more Cet article présente l'intégration du langage naturel ACE (Attempto Controlled English) dans le développement des systèmes intelligents. A partir d'un texte en ACE, le parseur APE (ACE Parser Engine) génère une structure DRS (Discourse Representation Structure) représentant la sémantique dudit texte. Par ailleurs, les systèmes intelligents utilisent des formalismes de représentations de connaissances pour communiquer entre eux, tels que la logique des prédicats, les RDF, les graphes conceptuels (GC). Vu que les graphes conceptuels sont le formalisme le plus connu et le plus développé dans le monde de l'Intelligence Artificielle, nous avons développé une correspondance (mapping) entre les formalismes DRS et GC, ainsi, à partir d'un texte écrit en langage naturel (ACE) nous pouvons générer un graphe conceptuel représentant sa sémantique. Th... more In e-government domain, an efficient semantic interoperability of services is a big challenge. Thus, for modelling semantically the public services, we have adopted semantic web services (SWS) technology. However, this technology allows only semantic description of services without giving a cognitive semantic representation of them. It allows modelling the relationships between services with their different situations through conceptual structures (CSs). In this paper, we develop an approach for modelling efficiently the public services based on SWS and CSs technologies. For this purpose, we extend OWL-S ontology with an e-government knowledge represented through a set of ontologies. Besides OWL-S ontology, we use the conceptual graphs theory as implemented in AminePlatform for structuring and organising the cognitive knowledge about services. Thus, for our application domain, that is, 'e-customs', we extend this platform to support simultaneous use of multiple domain-specific ontologies. Our approach enables as well enhancing service discovery and composition.
