Submillimeter dust continuum observations of three low luminosity protostellar IRAS sources

These sources were chosen because they differ considerably in their near- and mid-infrared appearance: L1582B is a source so cold that it does not have a near-infrared or 10 and 20 μm counterpart. L1489 does have a bright near-infrared counterpart, and IRAS 05413-0104 has a faint near-infrared counterpart associated with H 2 O maser emission
Neutron capture nucleosynthesis and the evolution of 15 and 30 M⊙ mass-losing stars. II, The core carbon-burning phase
The first detailed analysis of the neutron capture nucleosynthesis occurring in the carbon-burnin... more The first detailed analysis of the neutron capture nucleosynthesis occurring in the carbon-burning core and in the helium-burning shell of massive (M(ZAMS) = 15 and 30 M ⊙ ) mass-losing Population I stars during their central carbon-burning evolutionary phase is presented. As such, this work is the natural continuation of a previous study of the s-process developing during central helium burning in the same stars. It is shown that the s-process taking place in the He-burning shell and in the C-burning core of the modeled stars is much less efficient than the one accompanying central He burning.
