The analysis is based on a holistic method derived from organisation theory, organisational behaviour theory and strategic management theory. The process of integration into the organisational system is explored by analysing the coalescence of organisational continuous improvement, structure and culture. The coherent use of integration mechanisms is defined as key for a successful CS integration. The LEAPFROCS method is presented to capture the success of integration mechanisms and their application. The method is tested using empirical data from 2 case studies. The results of the data analysisthe patternswere validated in discussion with company representatives. The results show that the process of CS integration is company-specific, as is the selection of patterns to create a self-reflection of companies on CS integration catalysing future corporate strategies for improving CS integration into the specific company's organisational systems.

With the help of the configuration theory of Mintzberg and the innovation theory of Rogers a description is given of making this new prevention policy within the governmental organization. This process of change of five case studies is presented: two cases of provinces and three cases of municipalities. Special attention is paid to the role of innovators. The question to be answered is how innovators use networks within their organization to secure acceptance for their ideas. Finally, the authors summarize the success factors for innovators and add some recommendations for innovators within governmental organizations.

The Environmental Competence Centre of Philips Sound & Vision in The Netherlands has developed and tested a methodology for this purpose. This methodology, called Selection of SlRrategic EnvironmenTal CHallenges (STRETCH), has proven to lead to promising results and should therefore be actively promoted. In this article, the authors show how the application of STRETCN provides the possibility of meeting three main objectives: First, focusingon the incorporation of environmental aspects into the company's business strategy can elicit innovations that m a y enhance the competitive position of the company by cost reduction andlor higher market shares. Second, the environmental opportunities andthreats to beexpectedin thefuturecan beanticipated inan earlierphase. Through this proactive approach a company can amid external criticism and take the lead in environmental priority setting. Third, by applying the STRETCH methodology even higher eco-efficiencies are expected to be reached than through incremental, step-by-step environmental improMments.

It involves companies consciously orienting their activities towards value creation along three dimensions — people (the establishment of wellbeing within and outside the organization), planet (ecological stewardship) and profit maximization — while maintaining an open and communicative relationship with diverse stakeholders. How companies can properly respond to this endeavour cannot be addressed by adopting a single approach, strategy or scenario. The starting point here is that CSR can only be anchored in the organization if those involved can make sense of the concept.

The research question focuses on organizational processes of structuring CSR in practice: How do CSR sensemaking processes in companies work and is it possible to discern process strategies? Based on universal sensemaking theories, a conceptual framework is developed to analyze CSR sensemaking in practice. When the framework is used to analyze the experiences of 18 companies we are able to characterize internal CSR sensemaking as a process that consists of a three-stage cycle with an important role for change agents. Further, we conclude that the companies develop unique interpretations of the three-stage cycle. Grouping the processes, we discern two strategies of communicating and acting that stimulate the involvement of people and embed CSR values in the company.
