The data sample used, collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e + e -asymmetric-energy storage ring, corresponds to 455 × 10 6 B B pairs. Branching fraction measurements of B(B + → X(3872)K + ) × B(X(3872) → J/ψ π + π -) = (8.4 ± 1.5 ± 0.7) × 10 -6 and B(B 0 → X(3872)K 0 ) × B(X(3872) → J/ψ π + π -) = (3.5 ± 1.9 ± 0.4) × 10 -6 are obtained. We set an upper limit on the natural width of the X(3872) of Γ < 3.3 MeV/c 2 at the 90% confidence level.

We select a sample of events with one completely reconstructed tag B in a hadronic decay mode (B -→ D ( * )0 X -), and examine the rest of the event to search for a B + → τ + ν decay. We identify the τ lepton in the following modes: τ + → e + νν, τ + → µ + νν, τ + → π + ν and τ + → π + π 0 ν. We find a 2.2 σ excess in data and measure a branching fraction of B(B + → τ + ν) = (1.8 +0.9 -0.8 (stat.) ± 0.4(bkg. syst.) ± 0.2(other syst.)) × 10 -4 . We calculate the product of the B meson decay constant fB and |V ub | to be fB • |V ub | = (10.1 +2.3 -2.5 (stat.) +1.2 -1.5 (syst.

We measure ¼ ð68 AE 14 AE 4 AE 3Þ (modulo 180 ), where the first error is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic uncertainty, and the third reflects the uncertainty in the description of the neutral D decay amplitudes. This result is inconsistent with ¼ 0 (no direct CP violation) with a significance of 3.5 standard deviations.

Assuming isospin symmetry, we combine pionic branching fractions to obtain B(B 0 → π -ℓ + ν ℓ ) = (1.54 ± 0.17 (stat) ± 0.09 (syst) ) × 10 -4 ; we find 3.2σ evidence of the decay B + → ηℓ + ν ℓ and measure its branching fraction to be (0.64 ± 0.20 (stat) ± 0.03 (syst) ) × 10 -4 , and determine B(B + → η ′ ℓ + ν ℓ ) < 0.47×10 -4 to 90% confidence level. Using partial branching fractions for the pionic decays in ranges of the momentum transfer and a recent form factor calculation, we obtain the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |V ub | = (4.0±0.5 (stat) ±0.2 (syst) +0.7 -0.5(theory) )×10 -3 .

The measurements use a data sample of about 227 10 6 4S ! BB decays collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. The D " D invariant mass distribution shows clear evidence of the Zð3930Þ state with a significance of 5:8. We determine mass and width values of ð3926:7 AE 2:7 AE 1:1Þ MeV=c 2 and ð21:3 AE 6:8 AE 3:6Þ MeV, respectively. A decay angular analysis provides evidence that the Zð3930Þ is a tensor state with positive parity and C parity (J PC ¼ 2 þþ ); therefore we identify the Zð3930Þ state as the c2 ð2PÞ meson. The value of the partial width À Â BðZð3930Þ ! D " DÞ is found to be ð0:24 AE 0:05 AE 0:04Þ keV.

The analysis uses a 384 fb -1 data sample recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetricenergy e + e -storage ring running at center of mass energies near 10.6 GeV. Amplitudes and phases of the intermediate resonances which contribute to this final state are measured. A high precision measurement of the ratio of branching fractions is performed: 009. Using a model-independent partial wave analysis, the amplitude and phase of the S-wave have been measured.

A study of exclusive production of the D D system through initial-state radiation is performed in... more A study of exclusive production of the D D system through initial-state radiation is performed in a search for charmonium states, where D = D 0 or D + . The D 0 mesons are reconstructed in the D 0 → K -π + , D 0 → K -π + π 0 , and D 0 → K -π + π + π -decay modes. The D + is reconstructed through the D + → K -π + π + decay mode. The analysis makes use of an integrated luminosity of 288.5 fb -1 collected by the BABAR experiment. The D D mass spectrum shows a clear ψ(3770) signal. Further structures appear in the 3.9 and 4.1 GeV/c 2 regions. No evidence is found for Y (4260) decays to D D, implying an upper limit B(Y (4260)→D D) B(Y (4260)→J/ψπ + π -) < 7.6 (95% confidence level).

We present an investigation of the decays B 0 → Λ + c p and B -→ Λ + c pπ -based on 383 × 10 6 Υ ... more We present an investigation of the decays B 0 → Λ + c p and B -→ Λ + c pπ -based on 383 × 10 6 Υ (4S) → BB decays recorded with the BABAR detector. We measure the branching fractions of these decays; their ratio is pπ - process exhibits an enhancement at the Λ + c p threshold and is a laboratory for searches for excited charm baryon states. We observe the resonant decays B -→ Σc(2455) 0 p and B -→ Σc(2800) 0 p but see no evidence for B -→ Σc(2520) 0 p. This is the first observation of the decay B -→ Σc(2800) 0 p; however, the mass of the observed excited Σ 0 c state is (2846 ± 8 ± 10) MeV/c 2 , which is somewhat inconsistent with previous measurements. Finally, we examine the angular distribution of the B -→ Σc(2455) 0 p decays and measure the spin of the Σc(2455) 0 baryon to be 1/2, as predicted by the quark model.
