Creating environmentally sustainable transportation through green logistics through a systematic review of the literature

In recent decades, rapid industrial modernization has significantly contributed to the rise in en... more In recent decades, rapid industrial modernization has significantly contributed to the rise in environmental pollution. Consequently, there has been a surge in the number of companies developing eco-friendly products. This paper aims to provide a systematic literature review on green logistics and methods for improving transportation in a more sustainable manner. Additionally, it seeks to present a framework addressing the paradoxes and barriers hindering the progress of green logistics. A thorough analysis of 51 papers on green logistics, published between 1994 and 2017, is conducted. These papers are categorized based on factors such as journal, publication year, application area, and the countries where the research was conducted. The article emphasizes case studies and research papers, noting that most of the research originates from developed economies, with limited studies in developing countries. Various methods for improving transportation are explored in detail, and their ease of application is assessed. The paper also discusses the paradoxes and barriers in green logistics, focusing on the most critical ones. Furthermore, it highlights the future scope of green logistics and potential solutions. Unlike previous review papers, which typically concentrated on a single parameter, this study covers all aspects of green logistics and their interrelationships, with an emphasis on practical implementation and cost considerations.

FEA analysis is carried out using ANSYS software. Development of the finite element analysis model is also presented. The piston is loaded by a temperature field inside it. Appropriate average thermal boundaries conditions such as temperature were set on different surfaces of the 3D model. In this work, thermal analysis are investigated on a conventional diesel engine piston, made of multiple material at the multiple times. Using transient thermal workspace we calculate heat flux in the piston and the temperature distribution on it. The analysis is carried out to know the thermal and mechanical load effect on the upper end of the piston, so that using this data we can increase life of the piston. © 2018 ijrei.com. Calculations of outlet air temperature and collector efficiency have been done with and without application of recycling operation. Numerical simulation of solar air heater has been performed by the use of ANSYS-14 (FLUENT) software. 196 square pin fins on absorber plate has been attached and by maintaining both the pitch lengths (transverse and longitudinal) constant optimization of fin height and thickness (side) has been done for various values mass flow rates and results are represented in graphical as well as tabular form. In this research the natural frequency of a cracked cantilever beam is investigated by finite element method by using of ANSYS program with different crack depth and location effect. The beam material studied is aluminum alloy, titanium alloy, copper alloy and magnesium alloy. A comparison is made between these alloys and conclude optimized result between them. This research work is done to analyze the performance analysis of diesel engine when blended with Ethanol, Scrap plastic oil (SPO), Jatropha methyl ester (JME) and diesel fuel. For this experiment I used four stroke single cylinder water cooled diesel engine. Further I prepared four different blends of Ethanol, SPO, JME and diesel with 10% to 50% at a difference of 10% with also 5% Ethanol mixed. Afterwards the performance parameters were evaluated at different blend ratios and further they were compared with the diesel. The mixture of 20% blending with equal racial volume of Ethanol, SPO and JME in diesel showed almost the same results when compared with diesel.

Friction stir welding (FSW) is widely used in automobile and aerospace industries to join light m... more Friction stir welding (FSW) is widely used in automobile and aerospace industries to join light metal through higher plastic deformation rates. Because joining of dissimilar light metal is very difficult to join via fusion welding In this work, the friction stir welding (FSW) was successfully fabricate to join dissimilar aluminum alloys of AA7475 and AA6061, and revealed that tensile strength and hardness increased with increasing tool rotation. The maximum tensile strength and the % strain at SZ were observed 247.41 MPa and 18.24%at TRS 1200 rpm and TS 105 mm/min, respectively, and the higher microhardness (127 HV) at SZ was perceived at TRS 1000 rpm and TS 90 mm/min. The microstructure in the stir zone was substantially finer with higher tool rotation than the low TRS. The big and deep dimples can be seen in the FSWed part at 1000 rpm, whereas equiaxed fine dimples can be seen at TRS of 1200 rpm.

Secondary data of five jobs that processed on six machines in the machining shop was collected from the production planning and control system unit catalog. By using lekin scheduling software we can obtain the result using alternative dispatching rules based on processing time of each jobs. In this work, the mechanical properties of aluminium alloys Al-2014 with variation of zinc concen... more In this work, the mechanical properties of aluminium alloys Al-2014 with variation of zinc concentration (1% to 2.5%) were achieved using experimental method. The influences of zinc concentration on mechanical properties of aluminium alloy Al-2014 have been studied. The ultimate tensile strength value of the composite aluminium alloys has increased with the increase of Zn percentage from 1wt% to 1.5wt% and thereafter decrease with the further addition of 2.5wt%. It was observed that ultimate tensile strength (387.38 MPa) value has been the maximum at 1.5 wt% Zn addition. The strain values for different percentage of Zinc addition vary in the range of 17.62 to 24.48%. The Minimum ultimate tensile strength was obtained 315.85 N/mm 2 at 1.5 wt% Zn addition. The Hardness was improved when concentration of Zinc increased, maximum hardness (115 HV) was obtained in Al-2014 with 2.5% Zinc concentration. Because of fine precipitates and fine grains structure, the cast aluminium alloy with 1.5wt% is associated with plastic deformation and high temperature, due to precipitates formation at high temperature along the grain boundaries. Fine recrystallized grains and increase of grain boundaries was found in the cast aluminium alloy with 1.5wt% Zn predict higher tensile strength.
