It is a clear fact that both are basic ingredients for development and social growth for every nation. The comparative assessment of information needs and seeking behavior of regular and distance university students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the basic theme of this study. Cross-sectional survey method was used for data collection. A self-designed questionnaire was distributed among four hundred respondents; three hundred and forty eight were received. To facilitate academic success, it is suggested that broad range of library services i.e. reference and referral services, critical thinking skills, formal and informal group instructions, identification of needed information skills, and effective and ethical use of intellectual and physical resources, should be provided to the students.

The members of the three major LIS professional organizations known as PLA (Pakistan Library Association), PLWO-KP (Pakistan Library Welfare Organization- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Branch), and PUCLA (Peshawar University Campus Librarians Association) were the targeted population for this study. The questionnaire was designed using a Google Survey form to collect data for the pilot and final study. Lack of understanding about research activities, non-availability of research journals, and non-applicability of research output in libraries by LIS professionals are the major findings of the study. Systematic research and evidence-based training, launching research journals, and consulting donor agencies for fundraising are key components that could be utilized to enhance Pakistan's research activities.

During the war years, Westcott was the official government documentarian of the construction and operation of Oak Ridge as well as photojournalist for the local newspaper. His photographs, which are a cultural and historical record of that unique time and place, have been published in numerous books on the history of the Manhattan Project. This study is based on historical documentation as well as a lecture by and interviews with Westcott.

But how should universities respond? And what, if anything, does this mean for Southern Miss? Join us for a discussion with faculty and other university leaders to think about these and other questions raised by the Paywall film

It has been considered the most fundamental activity of the human mind."-Cataloguing and Classification: An Introduction by Lois Mai Chan (1994) In addition to classical and popular literature (fiction), libraries contain non-fiction. Nonfiction by definition presents factual narratives about the world but how valid and reliable is the information presented? ..... That depends on the source. Research indicates that the greatest weakness related to information literacy is the inability of most people to judge information quality. By understanding the types of information sources and how they are related in the information cycle, one can become a more educated consumer of information.

This paper focuses on one of the richest collections at The University of Southern Mississippi, the de Grummond Collection, examines the background and historical context of the oldest items in the collection, Aesop's Fables, and notes strategies that address visibility and accessibility of rare items. DE GRUMMOND CHILDREN'S LITERATURE COLLECTION The de Grummond Children's Literature Collection, founded in 1966 by Dr. Lena Y. de Grummond, is one of North America's leading collections of children's books and primary-source materials related to children's literature. The collection includes original manuscripts and illustrations of more than 1300 authors and illustrators as well as more than 160,000 books dating from 1530 to the present. The collection is a rich repository of research materials for scholars interested in children's literature, history of the book, history of art and illustration, or history of education.

It employs both quantitative and qualitative research methods. The quantitative analysis reports on a survey of library and information science (LIS) faculty on nine categories of involvement and included 33 master level courses that were taught between fall 2010 and summer 2012. Analysis of the quantitative data indicates which courses have the potential for creating high levels of virtual and physical connectivity and which courses have lower potential for virtual and physical connectivity based on class requirements and activities. The qualitative analysis includes analysis of student feedback in one course and one class activity. Analysis indicates that online and physical community building activities vary by type of course-archival, school library, core, and elective. This awareness can help to stimulate and increase levels of community-building activities in both required and elective courses in online programs. _____________________________________________________________________________ Connectivism and Active Learning Siemens (2004) defines learning as "actionable knowledge" that can reside not only in humans but within an organization or database that connects information. Principles of connectivism include: Learning and knowledge rests in diversity of opinions. Learning is a process of connecting specialized nodes or information sources. Learning may reside in non-human appliances. Capacity to know more is more critical than what is currently known.
