In a global warming context, the intraguild pressure of the Tawny Owl could cause a contraction in the range of Tengmalm’s Owl, a"ecting its conservation status in the Nature 2000 network in Europe.

The re-introduction of the Alpine marmot in Friuli-Venezia Giulia started in 1960. Marmots have been released in many isolated areas since then, but introduction was only successful in a few of them. Since then, regional data was never updated; however, since 1999 a systematic monitoring of the species has been carried out by the “Parco Naturale delle Dolomiti Friulane” (PNDF), covering almost the whole mountainous sector of the Western Friuli (Borgo 2009a), a total area of 690 km. The update of the situation and knowledge level are therefore very heterogeneous, as the PNDF acts as a sample study area for the monitoring of this species at a regional level. The PNDF performs this long-term monitoring of the Golden Eagle because some population parameters and diet composition have been identified as indicators of factors and dynamics affecting the ecosystem (fanALP 2010). Observations, carried out through established methodologies, has been focused on the monitoring of pairs, nests localization and determination o...

Surveys for individuals, pairs and nests checking of both Little Tern and Kentish Plover were conducted every 1-3 days from March to mid August. The abundance of predators and stranded deposits were surveyed too. Little Tern settled a colony of 28 simultaneously active nests, and almost 25 young fledged. The settlement of the Little Tern colony determined an increase of 73% in the number of both pairs and nests of Kentish Plover in comparison with 2016-2017, with an increase of nests starting brood in late May and June, following the settlement of terns. The hatching trend of Kentish Plovers nests was strongly related to the trend in size of the tern colony suggesting an ada...
