Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar ... more Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa di kelas XI MIPA 4 SMA 8 MAROS. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 4 yang berjumlah 36 peserta didik, perempuan 23 orang dan laki-laki 13 orang. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (CAR). Dalam penelitian tindakan kelas terdiri dari II siklus, dimana satu siklus terdiri atas empat komponen, yaitu: (1) perencanaan (planning), ( ) pelaksanaan (action), ( ) pengamatan (observing), dan (4) refleksi (reflecting). Ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa secara individu, datanya dianalisis apabila siswa telah berhasil mencapai atau melewati standar nilai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum (KKM) sebesar 80%. Hasil menunujukkan bahwa ketuntasan belajar mencapai 83% atau ada 30 siswa dari 36 siswa sudah tuntas belajar. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus II ini ketuntasan belajar secara klasikal telah mengalami peningkatan lebih baik dari siklus I.
The Effectiveness of Using English Cartoon Film in Improving Students’ Noun Vocabulary Mastery

The research aimed to find out to find out whether the use of educandy media reinforce students' ... more The research aimed to find out to find out whether the use of educandy media reinforce students' memory in learning English vocabulary.The research applied Pre-Experimental Method using pre-test and post-test research and collect the data use pre-test and post-test instruments. The sample in the research was 20 students grade 7th Junior High school of SMP 3 Papalang. The data obtained was also analysed using SPSS Aplication versi 25. Based on the research findings, the reinforce students' memory in learning English vocabulary before use the educandy media show in pre-test was 27, and after use the educandy media the reinforce students, memory in learning vocabulary become 75.50, the occurrence of this significant increase in students' memory in learning English use educandy media. Therefore based on these result, it is recommended to use the educandy media at English subject, especially to increase the students' vocabulary.
The objective of this research was to find whether there is significant effect of using Guiding Q... more The objective of this research was to find whether there is significant effect of using Guiding Questions Technique in teaching students to write content of recount text at SMP Negeri 1 Sungguminasa. The method of this research was pre-experimental with one group pre-test and post-test design. The data gathered from pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The result of this research revealed that there was significant effect from students' writings after they applied Guiding Questions Technique to write content of recount text. It was proved from the results of pre-test mean score (48.33) and the post-test mean score was (81.67). Besides, the t-test value (15.418) was higher than the t-table value (1.6991). Based on the data results, it was concluded that Guiding Questions Technique brought significant effect while teaching students to write content of recount text.

The population of this research was all of the second year students of Junior High School which consisted of 300 students and the total sample was 30 students which consisted of 15 female students and 15 male students. The data were collected by using multiple choice tests through analysis descriptive method. The result of the analysis showed that female students and male students have the same vocabulary achievement on vocabulary mastery.

This research found out the students' error in translating English text into Indonesian language ... more This research found out the students' error in translating English text into Indonesian language at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. This research investigated students' ways in translating and understanding the meaning of the text translated from English to Indonesian. A descriptive analysis was used in this research with the population was consisted of 107 students and applied purposive sampling technique and the chosen 60 students were taken as samples. The data was in the form of translation test. The result of the data analysis showed that the students' error types in translating English text into Indonesian were 81.6 % generated translation was a literal translation and was 11 out of 60 students, or about 18.4% used the general translation from mistranslation or lexical meaning. And also it was found out that the students' error in lexical meaning. And there were 43 % which has translated in general translation errors. This analysis was very useful for the teacher and students. It helped the students to know their weaknesses and difficulties in translating English text into Indonesian. It can be concluded that the students are directed to learn more and practice to translate about English text into Indonesian language.

The speaking skills are complex and sometimes difficult to teach, the problem of the students have a lot of ideas in their minds but they worry to start and even they don't know how to develop ideas in teaching techniques can improve students' ability in speaking English. To solve this problem, the English teacher should have to be more creative in choosing the material and techniques which can make the speaking class more interesting, exciting and enjoyable. This research focuses using small group discussion because it is very important to achieve speaking skill. For this reason, the researcher tries to see the students' participation and improve their speaking skills through small group discussion. The researchers assume that small group discussion will be interesting because the students will be more active and this assumption is however still in question, whether or not, the students of English department Muhammadiyah University of Makassar can take part and improve their speaking skills through small group discussion.

This research was conducted in English Education Department, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. The subjects of the research were the fourth semester students in academic year of 2018/2019. This emphasizes on reinforce students vocabulary in learning process. This research used a pre-experimental method, with One Group Pretest posttest design consisting of six meetings and treatment. The number of samples is 20 students of seventh class. The data obtained by multiple choice questions in the form of noun material around. The results of calculation using SPSS 25 showed that the everage score of students’ vocabulary development was 27,00 in pre-test, and become 75,50 in post-test. Vocabulary development is supported by the t-test value which is greater than t-table value (4,687 > 1,729). Therefore, the alternative is accepted and null hypothesis is rejected. This results in teacher assessments of students having to be done online. This research was conducted to find out how online assessment is applied by teachers in schools, especially in learning English. This study aims to determine whether teachers have difficulties and what difficulties are encountered by teachers in conducting online assessments, as well as how teachers overcome their difficulties. This study uses qualitative research methods and the subject of this research is an English teacher in SMPN 4 Bantimurung Kab. Maros. This study uses interviews and questionnaires as research instruments, interview questions and questionnaires to find out the difficulties of teachers in conducting online assessments and the implementation during the covid-19 pandemic.
