This study empirically examines the non-financial factors approach to making investment decisions... more This study empirically examines the non-financial factors approach to making investment decisions and supports this significant activity in the context of SMEs, based on 16 investment projects and a proposal for a new way to manage non-financial factors. For small and medium-sized enterprises, focusing on non-financial factors in investment decision-making might identify fewer tangible advantages than in financial analysis, but there is not enough information on such factors. That is why the object ive of this research is to propose a way to make investment decisions by paying attention to non-financial indicators. This study produces three basic findings. First, nonfinancial measures are widely used in capital budgeting, but nonfinancial measures appear to serve as a partial substitute when there is a lack of information or knowledge to develop other techniques, mainly in the context of SMEs. Second, a proposal method to analyze non-financial factors facilitates a decision to accept or reject an investment project. Third, entrepreneurs very often make blind decisions regarding the investments they should make, either due to a lack of time, information, or knowledge to do so. The way of analyzing the potential impact of investment projects generates the opportunity to position them based on two dimensions that emerge from the combination of the nonfinancial factors used. Additionally, the present study succeeds in presenting and evaluating 16 investment projects, pointing to those that can have a better impact on businesses. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurial success among owners ... more This paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurial success among owners and managers of Ecuadorian SMEs through the relationship between variables such as business efficiency, psychological resilience and perceived entrepreneurial leadership. We surveyed 385 SME owners and managers in Ecuador and employed hierarchical linear modeling to analyze the data. The findings of this article suggest that entrepreneurial well-being, psychological resilience, and entrepreneurial leadership perceived by owners and managers of Ecuadorian SMEs are positively correlated with entrepreneurial success. There may be a tendency to associate success with economic performance. The practical implications of this study are that owner-managers of SMEs can use the developed measurement scale to evaluate their success and identify areas where they may need support or improvement and develop strategies to foster the best possible business experience. The study also provides insights into factors affecting entrepreneurial success and highlights the importance of promoting a positive entrepreneurial experience. In addition, the study contributes to literature by identifying some limitations and identifying areas for future research.

This research focuses on characterizing the orientation of the research that shows the contributi... more This research focuses on characterizing the orientation of the research that shows the contributions in the field of administrative sciences in Latin America. To do this, publications on Administrative Sciences by researchers in the region reported in Scopus were analyzed. After an initial review of all these publications, the sample was reduced to 87%, identifying the functions or areas of knowledge towards which they were oriented, their evolution over time, the sectors and countries where they were published, the collaboration networks between countries based on the development of the research and the main journals where they have been published. The results show that the administrative sciences are present in the epistemological development of Latin America, its conception and evolution correspond to the theoretical and methodological principles that established it as a science; They also reflect the existence of a vast network of collaboration in research in this field between countries in the region and beyond. At the same time, they show the need to strengthen the ties of collaboration between the most prolific researchers to strengthen the existence of an autochthonous school that responds to the particularities of the socioeconomic environment where they develop.

Which was structured in three moments: development of the proposal, deployment in a business context, and validation of the results through the application of a linear programming method. This proposal considers the five initial steps of the existing tools as a starting point, taking as a reference the normal time available for each homogeneous group and introducing modifications in the steps. The application of the methodology in the conditions of SMEs demonstrated its ability to generate results superior to those of traditional methods and similar to those obtained by specific linear programming techniques.

Cluster analysis using Ward's method, through the Euclidean distance squared, according to the characteristics of the scale used to evaluate the variables of the models is developed. As part of the analysis of the potential variables involved in the multivariate construct competency management, a procedure for analyzing variables consensus on participants in a theoretical model we were used. The contributions are reflected in the theoretical model designed, from the four dimensions identified, distinguished by the integration of the mainstream in the study of competencies and the design of a management system of human talent based on this approach; providing technically sound tools for competence development and a generic competence profile for teachers.Esta investigación se plantea como objetivo diseñar un modelo de mejora continua para la gestión de talento humano, con enfoque de competencias laborales, que vincule sus procesos centrales y contribuya a elevar el desempeño de los docentes en instituciones educativas. Se desarrolla un análisis de conglomerado que utiliza el método de Ward, a través de la distancia euclídea al cuadrado, atendiendo a las características de la escala utilizada para evaluar las variables de los modelos estudiados. Como parte del análisis de las variables potenciales que participan en el constructo multivariado de la gestión por competencias, se utilizó un procedimiento para el análisis de consenso sobre variables participantes en un modelo teórico. Promoting improvements in their performance is a way to contribute to the development of the territory. In this type of business, retail sales occupy an important percentage. In these organizations, their structure of the product portfolio is important and they constitute one of the possible reserves of improvement. This research seeks to explore the impact of the structure of the product portfolio of a retail establishment on performance indicators and evaluate improvement strategies. General performance indicators were evaluated as provisioning or utilities expenses; strategies for modifying the structure of the portfolio were applied, keeping the supply costs constant and modifying the levels of purchase from one product to another. Statistically significant improvements were achieved in the performance indicators evaluated.

El objetivo de la investigación es desarrollar un enfoque novedoso de selección de países con fines de internacionalización en el contexto de las pymes. El método utilizado es la escala de comparación par de Thurstone la cual requirió de una simulación sobre los criterios de confiabilidad, desarrollo económico y cercanía cultural, de tres países. Los resultados obtenidos permitieron establecer los criterios para la selección entre los países analizados, todo lo cual sugieren que la escala de comparación par de Thurstone constituye una técnica de fácil aplicación que contribuye al logro del objetivo planteado.

The relationship between levels of satisfaction experienced and its expression in future projecte... more The relationship between levels of satisfaction experienced and its expression in future projected behaviour is widely addressed in the literature, however in the context of tourism in general and tourist destinations in particular acquires distinctive features that demand further research and deepening in this relationship. This research seeks to deepen this relationship, using techniques such as the analysis of neural networks since it allows identifying hidden relationships among multiple variables when working with large databases. The study was carried out in a tourist destination of sun and beach, allowing first verify the latent variables present in the construct of customer satisfaction and then, through the analysis of neural networks, corroborate that there is a high relationship between levels of satisfaction experienced by tourists and their willingness to return and recommend the destination or willingness to discredit the destination whenever dissatisfactions are generated, noting that this last relationship was more significant. Likewise, it is identified which attributes of the service have the most influence on each of these decisions, observing that in each of the previous decisions, the attributes influence differently.

To develop the research, two questions are raised related to the similarities or differences of the perceptions of both groups with what is established in the literature and between the self – evaluation of the owner – managers and their employees on whether the former perform as an entrepreneurial leader.
