The authors examine the impact of these partnerships on the performance of 100 of the largest businesses in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Large companies were chosen because they are most likely to be involved with corporate social responsibility activities and cooperation with civil society organizations. Methodologically, the authors analyzed the effect of these partnerships on business performance using four Balanced Scorecard components -three non-financial and one financial performance. The research results show specific influences on non-financial business performance but not financial performance.

The law does not respond well, or, better said, it is not able to react fast enough to innovations. Technological and business inventions represent a threat to legal certainty. When an innovative business model, facilitated by the use of new technologies occurs, it is usually associated with a whole array of legal issues and conundrums. The law will try desperately to fit it into the existing moulds of legal regulation. The recent Uber Spain judgment (EU:C:987:2017) by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) provides a perfect illustration for this. According to the CJEU, Uber is a transport company. This paper will analyse the arguments presented in the judgment to show how law is not able to deal with rapid technological and societal changes in today's digital world. The implications of this judgment are far reaching, not just for Uber's operations in the EU and world-wide, but also for other game changers in the digital economy.

Financial technology or fintech represents one of the latest developments and the hottest subject being discussed within the financial industry. The Islamic fintech is at its infancy with a very small size and a limited number of platforms. The paper aims to analyze the fintech principles from the Shari’ah perspective and how this evolution will affect the Islamic finance industry (IFI). Although there are some Shari’ah issues in relation to certain aspects of the fintech industry, there is nothing in particular that makes this industry, in principles, Shari’ah non-compliant. Accordingly, this study deals with the overall idea of fintech and its application to Islamic finance. It will apply qualitative method to review and analyze Shari’ah and other issues related to fintech and briefly discuss its potential for further development of IFI. Certainly, the development of fintech will have a great impact on both conventional and the IFI and the response of the IFI to this development will determine its future place in the global financial arena. Hence, there is a need for the IFI to embrace this fintech revolution even further and stronger, thus avoiding not to be left behind.

Commercialization of the Internet as well as the development of the global economy contributed to the creation of a new concept in business. The integration of a large number of information systems and networks has led to the globalization of business through a computer network. This expanded the concept of a market as such, whereby market transactions can be carried out regardless of where the entities are located and regardless of the time in which the individual actions take place. By using multimedia content, hypertext and real-time interaction with users, the Internet has positioned itself as a superior marketing communication platform, which uses all the good sides of conventional media, but in a better way. This is especially true for export-oriented companies whose in-performance is more determined by adopting global...

This represents a trending economic phenomenon when it comes to consumption. Within sharing economy, consumers are organized by using specific technological platforms that enable them to innovatively consume or produce a particular product/service. These models provide maximum use of scarce resources on the basis of technological support and social capital of the community. Consequently, efficiency and confidence are essential for the functioning of sharing economy, whose size is estimated at 225 billion dollars by 2025. However, these trends are not evenly distributed and the development of the sharing economy depends on a series of conditions, which will be discussed in the paper. Thus, sharing economy makes tremendous challenges for all relevant stakeholders, especially the governments, in the context of adjusting the regulatory framework to meet its demands. Compared to developed countries, Western Balkan countries are significantly lagging when it comes to sharing economy. This is reflected in the lack of foreign and domestic investment in this area. The aim of this paper is to present the conceptual framework for this new economic trend, with the emphasis on the current state of sharing economy in Western Balkans. Paper will focus on the discussion of development potentials of sharing economy in the function of rural business development. Based on this, a set of recommendations will be made for improving the state of sharing economy in the Western Balkans.
