This may be as result of several factors such as soil fertility, pests and diseases and environmental factors but major overriding constraints that affects all aspects of tomato production are inadequate and inappropriate nutrient application and post-harvest losses. Soil nutrition plays a major role in determining the growth, yield and shelf life of tomato. The research was conducted with aim to increase yield of tomato and improve its shelf life under NPK, Poultry Manure, Eggshells and Calcium nitrate amendments. The study was conducted at the Plantation Crops and Experimentation Section during the 2022 cropping season. The study was conducted using a randomized complete block design with three replications per treatments. Data was collected on the growth, yield and shelf life to assess the influence of the various treatments on these parameters. Data was taken on eight randomly sampled plants per plot. The data was subjected to a one-way analysis of variance to determine the growth, yield and shelf life for the various treatments. Least significant difference was used to separate the means to determine the difference between the treatments and the control (p ≤ 0.05). Higher values were recorded for the parameters such as number of leaves, plant height, stem girth, number of branches, number of fruits, days to 50% flowering, days to 50% fruiting and fruit weight tomato plants treated with the integrated application of 4000 kg/ha poultry manure, 857.1 kg/ha eggshells combined and 1811.4 kg/ha calcium nitrate and 4000 kg/ha poultry manure than the other treatments and the control. It is therefore recommended that farmers apply integrated 4000kg/ha poultry manure and 857.1kg/ha eggshells or 1811.4kg/ha calcium nitrate and 4000kg/ha poultry manure for increased tomato fruit, yield and longer shelf life.
