Me, Myself & You

[Verse 1]
You're the darkest part of me
The reason why it's hard to breathe
Stealin' words before I speak, mm-mm

You love to show up unannounced
Take my head up to the clouds
Then you're the one to talk me down
And back again

[Pre-Chorus]
I keep runnin' in circles, there's never an end
Why does it hurt if it's all in my head?

[Chorus]
It's always been me, myself and you
A piece of me that I don't get to choose
You're in every lonely night
I can't get you off my mind

It's always been mе, myself and you
No matter how I try to cut you loose
You'rе always holdin' on too tight, I
I guess you're a part of me for life

[Verse 2]
I can never pull away
Emotion in a tidal wave
You wrap my heart in heavy chains
And hold me down
[Pre-Chorus]
I keep runnin' in circles, will this ever end?
Why does it hurt if it's all in my head?

[Chorus]
It's always been me, myself and you
A piece of me that I don't get to choose
You're in every lonely night
I can't get you off my mind
It's always been me, myself and you
No matter how I try to cut you loose
You're always holdin' on too tight, I
I guess you're a part of me for life

[Outro]
Life, for life
Always gon' be me, myself and my
My mind, my mind

What did Perrie say about "Me, Myself & You"?
Genius Answer

I felt that was a good opportunity for me to open up about my anxiety because I am open about it, and I talk about it a lot in interviews. I also talk to my fans about it. I feel it’s something we all relate to. Unfortunately, now more than ever, I think pretty much everyone experiences some kind of anxiety, which is awful because it’s horrendous. I just thought I’d write a song about it and see if it helped anyone or if anyone just felt drawn to it. It is [scary] and it isn’t. It’s kind of healing and nice, but sometimes when I hear it, I’m like, “Uh, God, I do have really bad anxiety,” but it’s so nice to be able to put it in a song. Hopefully, it can help other people.

[You] is the anxiety. It’s always been me, myself and you. You’ve always been here. You’re stealing my breath when I’m trying to speak. You wrap my heart in heavy chains and that’s what gives me the tight pains in my chest. All the lyrics are kind of talking about something or someone, and then at the end, it’s just always going to be me, myself and my mind, because it’s my mind that’s doing those things.
