In order to foster innovation and creativity, problem and project-based learning (PBL) play an important role. These help to link education to relevant in real-life experience and this connection is crucial for engaging the young minds and increasing their motivation levels. Undertaking innovative experiments, projects and problem solving exercises in multidisciplinary set up brings joy to learning. The enjoyment factor involved in such engagement enhances young people's motivation and interest levels, thereby opens doors for flow and creativity. Thus, provision of innovation spaces in schools and colleges, museums and science centers or institutions of non-formal learning, where such activities can be undertaken is recognized to play an important role in fostering creativity and inspiring innovation by young students. This will ultimately lead to developed culture of innovation in the country.

The recycling of nutrient is critical and a necessary component of the system. This soilless farming enables fish waste to supply of nutrient components to farmed plants via biofiltration. Encouraging saving of water and thus resembles its periodic treatment and recirculation. Supportively, plants act as a natural alternative to other filter in the system partially. Modern Aquaponics from multi-dimensional methods of agriculture provides a sustainable measure of food production with higher efficacy. Thus, this study compiles the need and technical understanding of selfsustenance and viability of Aquaponics.

Thousand tons of plastics are disposed prejudicially into the water bodies across the world every year due to lack of inadequate disposal and management system. In aquatic ecosystems, micro plastic pollution poses multiple serious threats to biodiversity. Micro plastic contamination is of emerging concern as these are hazardous to aquatic life, since they are the potential source of toxins and have direct impact on fish physiology. Micro plastic contamination of fish is also likely to pose serious threat to human life upon ingestion.

The benefits of pesticides are not derived without consequences. Disadvantages of pesticides include their toxicity to some humans, animals inclusive of fishes, useful plants and thus the persistence (long life) of variety of those chemicals within the environment. The exposure time, functional toxicity, dose rate and persistence marks the level of effects of a pesticide on fishes.

Such construction may lead to dramatic loss of fish, collapse of fisheries or sometimes elimination of highly important species from the environment. Dams are hampering the population structure and dynamics of fishes, their behavior and biology. Fish passes or Fishways are dedicated structures that allow migrating fish passage over or around an obstacle on a river. Fish passes act as cardinal pathway to balance the sustainable fish population and also for all other aquatic organisms that perform migration in rivers.

Sunderban mangrove, the world’s largest single block of halophytic mangrove ecosystem ... more Sunderban mangrove, the world’s largest single block of halophytic mangrove ecosystem in Northern Bay of Bengal with approximately 10,000 km2 area. The Sunderban (21°32′ to 22°40′N and 88°05′ to 89°51′E) are situated on the delta in the Bay of Bengal created by the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers. 62% of the total area falls within Bangladesh and 38% in India (Spalding, M. et al., 2010). Name Sunderban resembles the large mangrove trees Sundari (Heritiera littoralis). The region is networked by a complex of tidal waterways, mudflats and series of small islands of halophytic mangrove forests. Highly diverse and productive mangrove functions as a system of buffer against the cyclones.

So far, very less importance has been given to its culture potential, nutrition, processing and captive breeding even though it has a good market price and demand and is rich in protein vitamins and other essential micronutrients. Therefore, to harness its potential it could be integrated with the paddy cultivation in areas of Sundarbans where the land shaping techniques developed by ICAR-CSSRI, RRS, Canning Town has been adopted.
