Aim: To investigate protective effects of Resveratrol in combination or comparison with Zinc in experimental testicular injury induced by Cyclophosphamide is studied for the first time in literature. Materials and Methods: Rats (n=63) were randomly divided into 9 groups. After 21 days of drug administration biochemical and histological analysis were performed. Daily water consumption, body weights and weight of testes were measured. Johnsen’s testicular scoring and sperm morphology were evaluated. Hematoxylin&Eosin, Periodic acid-Schiff and Masson's trichrome stainings and iNOS, eNOS and CD34 antibodies were applied histologically. To determine oxidative stress, MDA and CAT values were determined. Statistically, one-way ANOVA with post Hoc Tukey HSD test for multiple comparisons was performed via IBM SPSS Version 25.0. Results: Cyclophosphamide caused an increase in testicular MDA levels due to elevate...

We aimed to find out the beneficial factors about rotations in EMPS education. Material and Methods: A questionnaire form (28 questions) was applied to emergency physicians about rotations of EMPS. Results: We included 294 physicians into the study. We found that time period of all rotations except cardiology and radiology should stay the same; the time period of these two rotations should be longer. When we asked if 'this rotation should be removed or elective?' , participants' answers were chest disease, neurology, gynecology, surgery, and anesthesiology consecutively. Conclusion: For reaching the real aims of rotations, suitable rotations should be provided to emergency residents, and they should be able to improve themselves at the educational point.

This retrospective study aimed to provide information regarding the clinical and demographic characteristics of patients with paracetamol intoxication. Material and Methods: A total of 214 patients attending to the Emergency Unit of the Izmir Bozyaka Training and Research Hospital between 1 January–31 December 2009 with a preliminary diagnosis of paracetamol intoxication were included. Demographic and clinical data have been collected. Results: Patients younger than 20 years of age represented the majority (78 patients, 36.4%) of the cases. Most of the emergency visits were recorded between 22:00 and 23:00 p.m. and between 00:00 and 01:00 a.m. Proportion of patients was highest in June as compared to other months. Of the whole study population, 55 (26%) ingested only paracetamol, while 159 (74%) were intoxicated with other drugs and/or alc...

Although this condition is a common metabolic condition, the incidence of TS in emergency services is rare. Even though there has been advancement in treatment modalities, TS still has a mortality rate of 20-40%. This high mortality and morbidity rate could be reduced by early diagnosis and treatment. Here in we present a TS patient admitted to our emergency service due to dyspnea.
