As a rough guideline, administrators usually require editors to have made more than 500 useful non-botlike edits, and to have been active in the last thirty days. Patrollers and License reviewers don't have to request this flag.
I am an active editor in the military areas, and we have various maps to update of new users of different numbers of military equipments. So the rights to change SVG maps is important. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheFrenchKing (talk • contribs) 16:07, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Some copyright issues with Brazilian photographs from 9 months ago to about 3 months ago. I can see a need though for the flag though. Abzeronow (talk) 23:28, 3 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
We are a design team working on brand management for various clients. Our role involves keeping brand-related information on Wikimedia projects up to date. In particular, we focus on updating outdated BI/CI materials, including replacing old logos with the correct and current versions. Recently, we wanted to update the BI in the link below to its new version, but we were not able to make the change.
If granted the rights, we would like to update our brands with their new logos to ensure outdated versions are not displayed. To carry out this work more efficiently and prevent outdated logos from being displayed, we would like to request Autopatrol user rights. This permission will help us maintain the accuracy and reliability of brand information on the platform. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cnxhk (talk • contribs) 05:22, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've been part of Commons for over a decade, and am mainly requesting this in order to be able to overwrite files. Thank you! --Fippe08:36, 5 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Established user, contributes excellent self-made wildlife photos. I have never seen any destructive/irritating/sloppy edits by this user. So I think it would be appropriate to grant Needsmoreritalin the autopatrol right. Thank you! Aristeas (talk) 10:31, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm getting into vectorizing some SVGs about niche topics for my country, Portugal, usually company logos, and would benefit from the right to overwrite, for example, fake SVGs (see File:TUVR Logo.svg, the main reason for this request). I don't have the 500 edits here, but have them on Portuguese wikipedia, where I mainly edit Thank you! Antniomanso (talk) 20:03, 7 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
As a rough guideline, administrators usually require editors to have made at least 1,000 useful, non-botlike edits or a large amount of justified renaming requests at Commons before they will consider granting the filemover right.
I've requested quite a number of file renames since I began editing more on Commons, with only a few requests that have been rejected from memory. A lot of times these files have very vague titles that don't give information on what the image is showing, which is why I file these requests. If given filemover rights, I will continue my progress in renaming files as the process would be much more streamlined. Thank you. Surayeproject3 (talk) 12:58, 26 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hopefully, the POV disputes from English Wikipedia, involving numerous ANI cases due to the removal of one name for another, do not spread to Commons. Wlaak (talk) 17:58, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I would to request renaming rights so I can help organise and maintain Category:Coldplay. I made many contributions related to the band on Wikipedia and I want to extend my efforts to Wikimedia as well. Thank you. GustavoCza (talk) 02:41, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've done more than 14,000 edits during my stay at Wikimedia Commons. Since 2010, I've uploaded 4,000 files (as of today!). Lots of times, I've found use of the rename-tagging, so having the ability to rename an erroneously named file myself would be very useful. Thank you. License reviewers don't have to request this flag. If you also want temporary account IP viewer right please mention this in your request. A separate request is not needed.
For a rough advise, do not seek this flag if you have not made about 500 useful edits on Wikimedia Commons unless you associate with any Wikimedia affiliate, or campagins such as Wiki Loves Earth
I'm working on Wiki Loves Africa Project and kindly request event organizer rights on Wikimedia Commons. I've reviewed the CampaignEvents extension and Commons' event organizer policies. I need these rights to manage event-related pages, add co-organizers, and coordinate activities.
Could you please grant me the necessary permissions? I'd appreciate your assistance in this matter.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Thank you. Royalesignature (talk) 17:42, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You may only request this right if you have patroller or license reviewer right. If you do not have this right please make a request for one of these rights and mention that you also need temporary account IP viewer right in the request.
