By examining biblical narratives, the paper argues that polygamy deviates from God's intended plan for marriage, which is monogamy, and asserts that to suggest otherwise is a misunderstanding of scripture.

Mentoring relationships have been prevalent across various occupational fields. Studies have demo... more Mentoring relationships have been prevalent across various occupational fields. Studies have demonstrated their positive impact on both mentors and mentees. Similarly, within the church context, mentoring plays a crucial role in fulfilling the mandate of making disciples. This paper explores the biblical foundation for mentoring, drawing examples from the Old and New Testaments. Old Testament figures like Moses, Eli, David, Elijah, and Naomi exemplify the practice of mentoring, while in the New Testament, Jesus' intentional investment in his disciples and the mentoring relationship between Barnabas and Paul illustrate its significance. The effectiveness of mentoring in church life is evident from scriptural evidence and contemporary examples, such as small group ministries. However, despite its importance, there is a deficit of mentoring relationships within many churches today. The paper proposes a way forward, advocating for the cultivation of closed small groups and mentoring groups to emulate Jesus' intentional discipleship model. By fostering such relationships, churches can effectively fulfill their mission of making disciples who, in turn, mentor others, thus perpetuating a cycle of spiritual growth and multiplication.

Achieving a thriving children's ministry is a common goal for many churches seeking to engage you... more Achieving a thriving children's ministry is a common goal for many churches seeking to engage young families and provide an enriching environment for children to learn about Jesus. However, burnout among children's pastors and directors due to the emotional demands of the role presents a significant challenge. Drawing on insights from Scott Dunbar's research on burnout in Christian ministry, this paper proposes a team-oriented approach to children's ministry as a more sustainable and effective strategy. Three key areas are explored: building a team, fostering relational connections, and equipping team members. Drawing parallels from the apostle Paul's ministry, the importance of offstage leaders and the need for a supportive team are emphasized. Practical strategies for identifying and recruiting team members, nurturing relationships, and providing ongoing training and support are discussed. By prioritizing teamwork and relational connection, children's ministry leaders can mitigate burnout, build a thriving ministry, and effectively serve children and families in the church community.
