I have a PhD in Philosophy (obtained with honors) with a focus on political theory and a Teaching Diploma from Saint-Joseph University- Beirut . My BA in Philosophy was obtained from the American University of Beirut. I several publications in the area of philosophy and political theory and is still pursuing her career as a Researcher/Professor of Humanities. Being trilingual - fluent in Arabic, English and French - has made me approach of a great deal of proximity to the learners’ mind and made possible a smooth way of interaction with people of various backgrounds.
I have more than 8 years of experience teaching humanity and social science courses in local as well as international universities: American University in Dubai, University of Wollongong Dubai. I am still pursuing her career at the American University in Dubai where she teaches: Introduction to Philosophy, Critical Thinking, Professional Ethics, World Cultures and Political Theory. I have succeeded in spreading to students the appropriate form of knowledge and in making them love and enjoy humanities and social sciences – a material that was rather alien to them.
My area of expertise extends beyond the borders of the courses she teaches, for I have expertise in stimulating the learners’ ability to critical thinking, creativity, innovation, comparative thinking, analytical and synthetic reflection, problem solving, long term and short term goal achievement and analysis. All this implemented with interesting hands-on and novel approaches involving activities inside and outside the class room that bring theoretical knowledge of the humanities and social sciences courses which I administers, closer to the practical and quotidian life of every learner.

This paper inspects the form of freedom that exists in Dubai to make people living in the city ha... more This paper inspects the form of freedom that exists in Dubai to make people living in the city happy and satisfied. I ponder Berlin's two notions of negative and positive freedom to see whether these notions can truly categorically exclude one another in the definition of freedom, and if so, which one applies in Dubai. I base my research on the assumption that the aim of every political/economic system is to make people happy and that the way to people's happiness is through the satisfaction of their desires of survival and well-being. The results I succumb to show that Berlin's two notions of freedom are intricately related on many levels: both partisans of positive and negative freedom seem to disregard the fact that, the subjectivity suggested by negative freedom does not exclude the presence of an objective element in negative freedom and, consequently the objectivity suggested by positive freedom does not exclude the presence of a subjective element in it. The categorically dualistic conception of freedom suggested by Berlin would thus be incomplete and the necessity of freedom would dwell in a form of a dialectic synthesis between negative and positive freedom, that which I call Dialectic Freedom. This is the form of freedom that prevails in Dubai.

Ever since Darwin, different theories of evolution pursuant upon each other, have tried to interp... more Ever since Darwin, different theories of evolution pursuant upon each other, have tried to interpret the complexity of human history from a Darwinian viewpoint. The main concern was to prove that human history can be considered part of nature " s history and that it may follow nature " s evolutionary laws. All those theories have put a tremendous effort in explaining " How " human culture and civilization could follow an evolutionary process and in some cases have provided a detailed scrutiny for this account, but have failed to answer " Why " it occurred. This research puts the emphasis on the question " Why? " While searching for an answer to why human civilization occurred, the research ensues in finding the roots of human civilization in an aspect of human life that was and has been marginalized by scientific research: this is the human desire of commodious living. Thus, while relying on Dawkins " selfish gene as a methodological guideline, the aim here is to suggest the possibility of a natural genetic development of this desire of commodious living, standing at the base of human civilization development. The conclusion reached suggests that, by giving this commodious desire a biological dimension, human civilization and cultural development might be endowed with a biological interpretation that can be construed as following a Darwinian evolutionary process, and consequently mend and bridge the existing gap between an account of human history and one of nature " s history while eschewing the shortcomings of group selection theories.

In this research paper, we will try to prove that because Marx failed to give a significant regar... more In this research paper, we will try to prove that because Marx failed to give a significant regard to the human desire not only to live, but also to live well (our new notion of commodious desire) his use value came as lacking this aspect of human nature. We will show how this same lack that has eventually lead Marx to see money hoarding and eventually the capital as of unnatural origins. So, we find it our task, as believers in human's natural desire not only to survive, but also to survive well, to delve a little into the Marxist aspect of use value and try to extract the main misfortunes that the great socialist philosopher could have avoided had he built his theory on a human being who is in constant search for the most commodious in life.
