After the signing of the May Manifesto between the IMRO and the Comintern on 6 May 1924, which marks the breaking point in the political positions of Todor Aleksandrov, they quickly deteriorated and led to his demise in Pirin. The article traces the dynamics between Aleksandrov and his peers and subordinates in the IMRO, the legal Macedono-Bulgarian organizations, the governing factors in Sofia and the Comintern, and outlines the mechanisms set in motion by these factors once the May Manifesto was signed.
